Looking for inspiration for a fun theme for your next corporate summer party or event? (Come on, you know we still have more sunny weather coming.) Last week we catered a “Wonkavision” themed summer picnic for 600 adults and 200 kids at Mitchell Park in Palo Alto. All food items and desserts revolved around the original (and best) Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory movie from the 70’s.
Examples included Mike Teevee “TV” dinners composed to order and served in TV trays (complete with apple sauce) and a station geared towards kids (and some adults who couldn’t resist) with chicken fingers, macaroni & cheese, and “Oompa Loompa” tater tots and a chocolate fountain that no one fell in to, and gourmet popcorn.
Specialty cocktails included special bottled Fizzy Lifting Drink and Jolly Ranchers, and, of course, a Chocolate Martini.
