Two of our Global Gourmet Catering team members, Mia Katz and Rafael Campos, were recently treated to a fun-filled day at sea with the wonderful people of Lending Club, the worlds largest online credit marketplace. Lending Club owns the record-breaking Lending Club 2, a 105-foot maxi trimaran which Mia and Rafael got to sail on around the San Francisco Bay with the actual Lending Club 2 crew.
Organized by Mia and Rafael, Global Gourmet will be catering Lending Club’s holiday party in December. The wonderful and generous people of LC are in the habit of taking companies they work with on a ride aboard the Lending Club 2. With a speed reaching between 30 and 40 mph, the famous trimaran recently completed a record-breaking Newport to Bermuda run, sailing the 635 nm in under 24 hours. The sheer size of this vessel is enough to impress anyone, whether you’re a sailing enthusiast or not.
The 86-foot America’s Cup AC72 class catamarans have nothing on this sailing legend. Lending Club 2 is currently staying in the Bay Area as it gets ready for its next big adventure, sailing from Los Angeles to Hawaii in the legendary Transpac race.
