Global Gourmet Catering celebrated its 15th year as the vendor partner for Outside Lands at San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park for VIP Cabana Catering, VIP Concession Catering, BaconLand, and Private Catering for festival partners.

Outside Lands returned better than ever for this year’s sold-out three-day event held August 11-13, with over 225,000 folks attending the weekend festival.

Festival-goers were treated to somewhat overcast (go figure) but otherwise beautiful weather and stellar performances from headliners Kendrick Lamar, Foo Fighters, and ODESZA.

Also on the bill were Lana Del Rey, The 1975, Megan Thee Stallion, Zedd, Janelle Monáe, Maggie Rogers, FISHER, Ethel Cain, Noah Kahan, J.I.D, Lil Yachty, Father John Misty, Cigarettes After Sex, Orville Peck, Willow, Beabadobee, Cuco, Alvvays, and NIKI, along with, of course, lots and lots of fantastic food.

Global Gourmet Catering partnered with Rocketbird for a third year straight, featuring a different fried chicken sandwich each day in VIP concessions, and brought back the ever-popular BaconLand – a celebration of salty, porky goodness, offering a selection of artisanal bacon flights to illustrate the wide variety of flavors that can be achieved through different production methods. In addition to the bacon flights from The Bacon Bar, we served a Fried Egg and Bacon Breakfast Sandwich, Grilled Cheese & Bacon Sandwich, and a Classic BLT.

Global Gourmet also provided concessions for the Box Suites, and concessions, brunch, a changing dinner service for the VIP Cabanas, and a Charcuterie Board and other sharable items over the weekend.

Top sellers over the weekend in VIP were Rocketbird’s signature fried chicken sandwiches – Rocket Reaper, Island Bird, and Cali Bird – which sold out each day, Loaded Fries, Tandoori Chicken Curry Burrito, Badlands Bison Cheese Burger, Bangkok Bowl, and Jackfruit Sliders.

In the Chase Sapphire Lounge, we served 1,500 guests daily. During happy hour, we teamed up with Chef Melissa King (Top Chef: Boston, and winner of Top Chef: All-Stars L.A.) to serve two of her favorite street-style food from Asia – Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken dish and her Brewed Jasmine Tea + Condensed Milk Boba Tea to those lucky Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders.

We also partnered with celebrity chefs and influencers all weekend for cocktail and food pairings in Cocktail Magic, helping them execute their dishes. Friday was Henry Laporte (Salt Hank) with a Shaq Burger demo. Chef Brenda Buenviaje from Brenda’s Soul Food restaurants prepared beignets the next day. And on Sunday, we had Chef Gregory Gourdet (restauranteur and Top Chef finalist in seasons 12 and 17) making nitro ice cream sundaes. (How cool is that?)

New this year at Outside Lands was GA+ – an exclusive lounge with a full-service bar and an elevated food experience outside of VIP where we served Rocketbird Cali Chicken Tenders, a Grilled Cheese & Bacon Sandwich, Millionaire Bacon, Five Spice Duck Fat Chex Mix, and Monster Cookies. (Cookie Monster Cookie with blue cookie dough and chocolate chips, Oreo crumbs, and melted chocolate inside, anyone?)
