The lights were vibrant, the gowns were elegant and the food was top-notch. The Philippine Consulate hosted a beautiful event Friday night at San Francisco’s City Hall celebrating the Philippine Independence Day. The night was complete with singing from Broadway star Joan Almedilla, dancing, a VIP reception, fashion show, and live music from child prodigy cellist John Ignacio and pianist Tateng Katindig. We were so excited to be a part of this occasion and created a one-of-a-kind menu to capture the essence of the celebration.

Our servers enticed the guests with hors d’oeuvres of Roasted Garlic-Crusted Carpaccio of Beef Tenderloin, Smoked Chicken, Bay Shrimp Paella Bites, and more. After the hors d’oeuvres were devoured, the guests sat down to a lovely salad of Baby Arugula, Dried Apricot and Goat’s Milk Cheese after which the entrée choices of Chardonnay Wood-Smoked Angus Beef Short Rib and savory Mushroom Risotto were served. To satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth after dinner, we presented the guests with a Strawberry-Lemon Verbena Panna Cotta and Dark Chocolate, Caramel and Maldon Salt Canvas Tart duo.

Throughout the night our talented bartenders mixed up specialty cocktails featuring  Infanta Lambanog, a premium distilled coconut spirit from the Philippine Islands.  As they say in the Philippines, “Tayo’y magsikain!” (Bon Appetit!)
