We love an event with a good cause, and the mission of the wonderful people at GLIDE means a lot to us here at Global Gourmet Catering. GLIDE has been dedicated to encouraging inclusivity and love in our community since the 60s, so we gladly partnered with the organization on the heartwarming seated dinner served at their annual Holiday Jam fundraiser at The Masonic.

GLIDE’s Holiday Jam is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season. Charitable spirit, an electric atmosphere at The Masonic and incredible live performances come together for an outstanding evening. This year’s lineup was led by Michael Franti and Shiela E.

The evening started with a cocktail hour where we served small plates of Pan-Seared New York Strip Steak and Freshly Made Cavatelli, both topped with Truffle shaved to order. We also closed the evening by serving petite trios of our favorite desserts — Thai Basil Panna Cotta, Sour Cherry Flummeries and traditional Tiramisu.

As far as “dinner and a show” goes, the Holiday Jam is hard to beat. The GLIDE Ensemble and the Change Band, and their youngest members, brought the lively energy GLIDE’s patrons have come to expect. Additional performances by Goapele, some of the original Doobie Brothers, the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus and headliners Michael Franti and Sheila E kept the audience in a steady state of praise and applause.

GLIDE announced its Legacy Movement during the Jam, a new chapter for the organization upholding values like unconditional love and radical inclusivity. “Walk That Walk” was the motto of the evening and will be a pillar of that movement — encouraging the GLIDE community to live and act on these values.

“We encourage people to walk that walk and talk that talk, to love and serve the most vulnerable among us,” said Rev. Cecil Williams. “By walking that walk and fighting for justice and equality for all, we can inspire the change within ourselves and do extraordinary things together,” said co-founder Janice Mirikitani.

We’ll be Walking That Walk with them!
