‘Top Chef, Just Desserts’ Year One Winner Yigit Pura will also join Culinary Team
[San Francisco, Calif.] October 16, 2018—Global Gourmet Catering, San Francisco’s premiere full-service catering company, today announces that they have officially taken over the food and beverage contract at the War Memorial & Performing Arts Center, as of August 1, 2018. This contract has Global Gourmet Catering managing all cafés, restaurants, intermission bars, and catering services for San Francisco’s War Memorial Opera House, Davies Symphony Hall and selected locations in the Veterans Building including the Herbst Theatre and Veterans Lobby.
Patrons of the War Memorial Opera House, Davis Symphony Hall, Herbst Theatre, and Veterans Building will enjoy menu updates and many original favorites, including the ever-changing seasonal buffet and elevated a la carte dishes at Café at the Opera, locally sourced California a la carte options at The North Box Restaurant , and creative cocktails and snack options at the Intermission Bars at all theatre locations. Café Valor (formerly known as C+M), located in the Veterans Building, is newly renovated and open for breakfast and lunch business. Café Valor features a changing menu of locally-sourced seasonal breakfast and lunch items, including breakfast sandwiches, fresh pastries, a waffle bar, salad and grain bowls, milkshakes, coffee beverages, and artisan teas.

Yigit will bring his expressive style, enthusiasm, and passion for baking to the culinary team and to Global Gourmet Catering clients in the Bay Area. Pura, originally from Anarka, Turkey, began his culinary training in the pastry arts at only four years old. He then earned his stripes in kitchens across the country including The Meetinghouse, Postrio, and Gary Danko in San Francisco; Le Cirque and the Four Seasons Hotel in Manhattan; and Restaurant Daniel and Daniel Boulud in Las Vegas.
