Located in the heart of the Aquatic Park Historical Landmark District on Fisherman's Wharf, the San Francisco Maritime Museum offers a truly unique experience showcasing the sights, sounds, and textures of the city's seafaring past.

Built in 1939, the Museum (a part of the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park) is a marvel of art-deco style with classic terrazzo floors and fanciful murals and mosaics created by renowned artists Sargent Johnson and Hilaire Hiler, and was constructed in the Streamline Moderne style to resemble an ocean liner.

With breathtaking views of the San Francisco Bay, Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz and Angel Island, the newly restored grounds surrounding the museum as well as the outdoor patios located on all three floors offer your guests world-renowned views of the most beautiful city on earth. Additional attractions within easy walking distance from the museum include the Hyde Street Pier, Ghirardelli Square, Fisherman's Wharf, and Victorian Park.

Multiple event spaces within the museum and on the surrounding grounds allow for a variety of ceremony, reception and seated lunch or dinner options to choose from, and can accommodate up to 750 guests reception style. The first floor can accommodate approximately 200 guests for seated indoor functions between its three indoor spaces and up to 400 guests for a reception-style event utilizing both its indoor and patio spaces; the second floor can accommodate up to 200 guests for a seated function in its indoor space and over 300 for a reception-style event utilizing both the indoor and wrap-around terrazzo tile patio spaces. The third floor offers the highest vantage point for sweeping bay and city views and makes an ideal VIP or cocktail space for any function.
